Home to a variety of wildlife, Wanstead Park and its pond are fantastic on a lazy Sunday; take a stroll and feed the ducks and geese.

All You Read Is Love

All You Read Is Love

My absolute fave hang out is this uber cool independent bookshop, café and bar run by a lovely Danish pair in Bushwood, Leytonstone. They hold great Scratch Nights for up and coming artists. Real unique personality to it - comedy, magic, music gigs and book launches. Fab cocktails and coffee too. In the daytime, it's the perfect place to buy or just chill with a book.

Le Petit Corner

Le Petit Corner

Le Petit Corner is my absolute fave café in the Bushwood end of Leytonstone. It's Bugaboo central, but the kids can play downstairs, so upstairs is chilled and they have a secluded garden. Top toasties and apple tart and just started doing select gourmet food evenings, perfect for date night!

Fantastic family orientated cafe serving unique stone baked pizzas, homemade cakes and featuring a basement playground with dedicated activities throughout the week for under 5's. Great place to take babies and toddlers.

Little Saigon

Little Saigon

Funky vibe, Shoreditch-y look with in house tuk tuk. Serves excellent soft shell crab and the noodles are fabulous.

The Red Lion

The Red Lion

Awesome pub with a beer garden, a great vibe, great people and a DJ on Friday and Saturday nights. It's also very close to Leytonstone Underground Station.

The Wild Goose Bakery

The Wild Goose Bakery

Amazing cakes and pastries, lovely atmosphere. Best place to catch up with other Mums.

Why not explore the nearby areas of Valentines, Manor Park, Aldersbrook, Ilford, Clementswood, Wanstead, Newbury, Seven Kings and Loxford

"Penny Brookes Street in Stratford is named after a nineteenth century doctor who was central in getting PE placed on schools' curriculum."

Perfect for commuters, Leytonstone is only five stops on the Central line from London Liverpool Street.

Joshua Mugume

Many people don't realise it's only a quick train ride into central London from Barking Station!

Natalie Mills

Barking has a lot to offer - shops, schools and river walks...and with a massive regeneration programme already under way, its future is very bright...
