"In 1980 journalist Duncan Campbell entered (illegally) down an access shaft in Bethnal Green and attempted to cycle to Westminster. He was amazed at how well maintained and extensive the tunnels were under the city and had no need of a map as they were very well signposted."

I love Bethnal Green Gardens because there is a park inside for children and there is a spiderweb next to the park for older children Furthermore, there is a huge football pitch and a basketball area. Even though there is a football pitch and a basketball area, it is spacious. Also there is a grass hill that has dandelions all over. To add to this there is a library next to Bethnal Green Gardens. In addition, the whole area is clean, plus the community that work there are very kind, generous and helpful.

I love Bethnal Green. It is situated perfectly on the central line and is great for getting around easily. Brick Lane Market on a Sunday is only a 10 minute walk away, along with the great night life in Shoreditch. It is the perfect place to really enjoy London for what it is – a busy, exciting, cosmopolitan city.

I have lived in East London and have had the amazing opportunity of being born and bred in the heart of it! Bethnal Green has a lovely community and wonderful niche markets, local parks, cheap and cheerful as well as classy restaurants! If you're a fan of food look no further! Brick Lane, (which is round the corner!) has a large flea market with stalls selling antiques, clothes, bric-a-brac and all sorts of other weird and wonderful things and is famous for selling THE best Indian around! Columbia Flower Market is also round the corner! You can surprise your loved ones with beautiful giant bouquets! Bethnal green has the underground, and National Railway and a range of buses which can take you to different locations!! A lovely, warm, and sociable area! :)

Behind every corner is an undiscovered hangout. A giant adventure playground in the heart of the city

Bethnal Green is an awesome, urban area with an eclectic mix of people, ranging from students, arty hipsters, professionals working in the city to old school Cockney and Bangladeshi residents selling local wares (such as jellied eels, pie & mash and beautiful saris). Bethnal Green Road itself has everything you need from supermarkets, fresh fruit and veg stalls, excellent breakfast places (E Pelliccis and Cafe 338), numerous banks, opticians, take-away places, a decent swimming pool & gym classes in the old Roman baths and several great pubs (not to mention my favourites - The Old George and The Star of Bethnal Green). It’s also perfectly located for some of the best things to do in East London: browsing the vintage clothes shops and sampling the food markets/ curry houses of Brick Lane, bumbling around Spitafields’ stalls, hitting the bars and clubs in Shoreditch, buying gorgeous plants and fresh flowers on a Sunday from Colombia Road Flower Market, wandering along the canal at Broadway, chilling out on London Fields and strolling around beautiful Victoria Park. Stratford Westfield is only two stops further east on the central line for all your shopping needs and there are two nearby cinemas at Hackney Empire and Richmix in Shoreditch (both a 20 min walk away). Commuting to the West End onwards is easy as you’re only in Zone 2 on the central line and the railway line at Bethnal Green is on the Overground with better access to Stoke Newington, Walthamstow Village and South East London. If you work in the City you can walk to work in just 30 minutes. We couldn't have been happier living here for the past 7 years and will be sad to leave!
