An Islington institution, this Mediterranean restaurant is amazing value!

Ottolenghi

Ottolenghi

Not great if you're on a budget. However, if you want to push the boat out and want tasty Turkish-inspired food, you're in luck!

69 Colebrooke Row

69 Colebrooke Row

One of London's best kept secrets. The size of a small living room, but serving the best experimental cocktails around. The bar uses spirits and drinks that it infuses itself in a drinks laboratory and the staff wear lab coats.

New Culture Revolution

New Culture Revolution

Off the beaten track. Amazing dim sum and very good value for money.

Camden Passage

Camden Passage

Vintage and antiques shops, Camden Passage oozes character and quirkiness with great places to have a coffee or dine. Oh so pretty and quaint!

The Sampler

The Sampler

The best place to quaff on the finest wines around without having to buy a bottle! Very highbrow.

The De Beauvoir Deli Co.

The De Beauvoir Deli Co.

This is a fab little deli with homemade cakes, tonnes of local produce and some really great cheese! There's always people sat outside enjoying a sandwich and a coffee...

Sushi Tetsu

Sushi Tetsu

Sushi Tetsu is a fantastic and very personable sushi restaurant tucked down a small passageway in Clerkenwell. It serves some of the best sushi in London.

J&A Club

Truly lovely gem of a cafe - indoor and outdoor seating with a relaxed charm and scrumptious food.

The Museum of the Order of St John Cloister Garden

The Museum of the Order of St John Cloister Garden

A wonderful quiet garden for people in the know and ideal to sit in on a summer's day. Make sure you also take time to find the entrance to the original crypt, a wonderfully thematic space with tombs dating back hundreds of years.

Sourced Market

Sourced Market

I can get the perfect poached eggs on toast in the morning and then go back in the evening for a bottle of craft beer!

Franks Canteen

Delicious breakfast, brunch and lunch with a changeable menu.

The Camden Head

The Camden Head

A fantastic boozer in the heart of Camden Passage. Sit out in the beer garden watching the locals mooching around the market stalls.

The Betjeman Arms

The Betjeman Arms

The only British Pub located within the Grade I Listed building underneath the clock tower and arches at St Pancras International station. Elegant dining room, heritage features, charming staff and stunning British pub classics menu. This is now my family's new favourite Sunday Lunch local.

Workshop Coffee Co.

Workshop Coffee Co.

Great coffee and even better banana bread!

"The restaurant Granita on Upper Street became well known as the place where Tony Blair and Gordon Brown met to decide who was to become Labour party leader after the death of John Smith in 1994."

Alongside all the restaurants and bars that make Upper Street so popular are the architectural gems that add character to the area.

Nick Batten

Within touching distance of the West End, yet retaining a vibrant neighbourhood feel, Islington is a smart choice for buyers and tenants.

Daniel Burrell

Canonbury and Islington are renowned for their beautiful Regency architecture that attracts so many of the local residents.

What locals say about Islington and surrounding areas

  1. I love Newington Green because of the close community and village atmosphere. The proximity to Clissold and Church Street is handy, but Newington Green has most of what you need. This part of Green Lanes is really changing for the better and it's an exciting place to go now!
