What locals say about Notting Hill

  1. Lovely architecture

  2. Breakfast at Bluebells on the top of Portobello Road is a weekend habit I can't seem to kick!

  3. I reckon you can't beat Pizza East for an amazing Sunday brunch, buzzing atmosphere and a bit of celeb spotting. It's definitely the trendiest hangout spot for locals.

  4. Despite having lived in Notting Hill for 18 years, I've just got a dog and discovered the joy of escaping for a little peace and quiet in one of the many hidden parks in and around the area. Some of these are reserved for residents, but Holland Park and Little Wormwood Scrubs are open to all and are particularly beautiful.

About Notting Hill

Notting Hill is an area in west London, close to the north-western corner of Kensington Gardens, in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. It is a cosmopolitan district known as the location for the annual Notting Hill Carnival, the setting for the 1999 film Notting Hill starring Julia Roberts and Hugh Grant, and for being home to the Portobello Road Market. Notting Hill has a contemporary reputation as an affluent and fashionable area; known for attractive terraces of large Victorian townhouses, and high-end shopping and restaurants (particularly around Westbourne Grove and Clarendon Cross). Notting Hill has had an association with artists and "alternative" culture since its development in the 1820s.
