What locals say about E17

  1. There is so much happening in Walthamstow, with exciting new developments every month provided by budding Waltham Forest entrepreneurs. It's been great to observe the change over the last 16 years.

  2. It's diverse and vibrant. A great place to live. Walthamstow is the place for all people, for families and professionals wishing to be part of a close community.

  3. Walthamstow Village is definitely one of the best urban villages in London. Here, you can find fantastic schools, pubs and restaurants, an abundance of groups for babies and children and a real sense of community. Just outside the village, we now have The Scene development which has brought a cinema back to the area along with a number of great chain restaurants.

  4. Walthamstow is a friendly, diverse place with everything a young family needs - good parks, playgrounds, loads of groups and activities - as well as independent coffee shops and businesses. It has a genuine community spirit, and is an easy place to call home. Check out the homegrown art trail, or the annual Garden Party in Lloyd Park.

  5. Lloyds Park is definately the best part of Walthamstow. A stones throw from Lloyds Park and the award-winning William Morris Museum. It's a great place to visit with family or friends. The play area is suitable for all ages and the new cafe is wonderful. Only a short walk away from the hustle and bustle of the market. Lots of lovely cafes and shops for all ages. The new cinema and food outlets have made Walthamstow even more welcoming to surrounding areas.

  6. Walthamstow is close to central London, the buses take me anywhere and I have the choice of 3 train services: Overground Barking to Gospel oak; underground Walthamstow to Brixton and St James Street to Liverpool St.

  7. Living in Walthamstow is very exciting because it's not expensive but close to the centre of the capital.

  8. I moved to Walthamstow Village from Islington over 15 years ago and have never looked back. It's hidden away from the hustle and bustle of the main town centre - you wouldn't even know it was there. I can honestly say it has everything, a great community spirit, wonderful bars, restaurants and pubs, plus some lovely period properties - including quaint cottages. It's a unique place to live because you are only a stones throw away from Epping Forest where you can experience rural life - yet you are no more than 20 minutes away from the West End, Liverpool St or Westfield shopping centre if you want a night out. Where else in London can you get that mix? The Village is truly one of London's best kept secrets - I love it here! :)

  9. Transport links in Walthamstow are great.
