Where do Norbury locals go?

The Conquering Hero

The Conquering Hero

Totally the best Sunday roast and pint around.

The Rookery

The Rookery

A walled garden that would not look out of place in a BBC costume drama. Stunning throughout the year and still relatively undiscovered by the residents of South London. The gardens are beautifully maintained by a justifiably proud set of volunteers.

Cream's

Cream's

Classic hot and cold desserts, milkshakes and gelato served in a low-lit, purple and black setting.

Norwood Grove House

Norwood Grove House

Known locally as the "White House", Norwood Grove House and its well-tended formal gardens were opened in 1926 by the future King Edward VIII. It is the centrepiece of Norwood Grove itself; a large expanse of grass from which you can overlook Streatham and its surrounding areas. It is thoroughly underutilised and all the better for it!

The Railway Pub

The Railway Pub

Best pub quiz on a Tuesday night!!

The Bull

The Bull

This gastropub next to Streatham Common is fantastic! The décor is really cool, there's an impressive outdoor seating area with fires and the food is outstanding.

Grangewood Park

Grangewood Park

Yet another great park in SE25 - a hidden gem.

Blue and Orange

Blue and Orange

A great restaurant - it's definitely my favourite in Thornton Heath!

Streatham Ice and Leisure Centre

Streatham Ice and Leisure Centre

Located in the heart of Streatham it is the hub of the community. This comunity centre is a multi-facility location with London's only Olympic size ice rink.

Le Tour de France

Le Tour de France

The best fresh coffee, croissants and bread. Lovely family-owned independent. Get there early for their bread and croissants - they sell out fast.

Hideaway

Hideaway

The best live music venue in South London.

West Norwood Feast

West Norwood Feast

A community market in south London. Community comes together to taste, eat, drink and admire or buy all handmade items and all things that are on offer.

West Norwood Health and Leisure Centre

West Norwood Health and Leisure Centre

So many activities for adults and children. I personally love the exercise classes, Zumba and Boxfit.

Four Hundred Rabbits

Four Hundred Rabbits

Head to this pizza restaurant for a delicious gelato on a warm summer's day in the Crystal Palace Triangle!

Crystal Palace Aquarium

Crystal Palace Aquarium

Everything you need for your fish and reptile needs, even little critters like locusts!

Why not explore the nearby areas of Streatham, West Norwood, Thornton Heath, Norwood, Crystal Palace, Streatham Hill, Upper Sydenham, Mitcham, Tooting and Colliers Wood

"Located below an anonymous block of flats called Pear Tree House in Upper Norwood was a secret Civil Defence bunker from the Cold War. The bunker was not secret for long and was frequently daubed with CND stickers, before it was closed after pressure from the self-declared nuclear free Lambeth council in 1993."

Streatham Common is the perfect place to hang out when the sun is shining.

You can be at London Victoria or London Bridge in less than half an hour from West Norwood Station.

St Luke's Church, West Norwood was built in the early 19th century and sits at the top of Norwood High Street.

What locals say about Norbury

  1. A good community spirit. We have resided in Norbury (Pollards Hill) for over 30 years, having raised three children here. We have all benefited from living in a tranquil area with good neighbours, which provides great transport links.
