What locals say about NW6

  1. I love Kilburn for cheap high Street stores but close to posh west Hampstead options as well.

  2. Because you are in a community of educated, open, smart, interesting, cosmopolitan, international, diverse, youthful, caring, progressive, inclusive people. I would go further to say- 'unmatched anywhere '

  3. Kilburn is perhaps one of the most dynamic and atmospheric areas in London. Sitting comfortably in Zone 2, only 15 minutes from Oxford Circus, travelling is a breeze, and I'm never more than a 30 minute tube from the majority London has to offer. Unparalleled resources, such as 3 high-street supermarkets, an Argos, several restaurants, bars and cafes, one hardly needs to search beyond Kilburn High Road for a bargin. On the cusps of areas such as Maida Vale, St John's Wood and others, there is plenty for those who wish to explore by foot. Ideal for young professionals, i recommend Kilburn to kick-start your London adventure!

  4. I love Queens Park for the village feel it has and the award winning Sunday farmers market. Oh and the wonderful royal park!

  5. I love West Hampstead and NW6 as it is the area where the city and suburban wonderfully contrast. Being next to the beautifully dirty streets of Finchley road and the picturesque primrose hill and Hampstead. Kilburn market on ones doorstep gives more contrast and life to the area. Working class meets the middle class everywhere and with no issues. As a guy, I love the enormous dining and restaurant choices- eating is life and we eat well in West Hampstead! Parks and greens are numerous and of course the well renowned transport links. Living options are abundant with lovely road, blocks of flats and mansion houses from Victorian times. Secret museums and public spaces are waiting to be discovered in NW6 onto NW3. The sun always shines in West Hampstead I promise!!

  6. Inner city is where I live, Scant thought to residing in suburbia I'd give. My tower block greets me with friendly faces, Neighboring Hampstead and Queen's Park are fancier places. Multiple buses and stations for outer and central, Car parking space if I want it, but in Kilburn, non-essential. Big names like Smiths and Marks & Spencer, nestle alongside pubs and cheap greengrocers. Vibrant, interesting city-dwellers delight, To top it all I own a flat here outright.

  7. South Hampstead is a fantastic area to live in. Its closeness to the green spaces of Primrose Hill, Hampstead Heath and Regent's Park and its superb transport links, Waitrose and all the other High Street shops on the Finchley Road. One of its greatest assets though is the incredible cosmopolitan, vibrant atmosphere. You can hear English; Russian, Polish, French, Japanese, Chinese and American English yes, its all here. As my property, bought for a song years ago is now approaching a couple of Million, I'm considering down-sizing but definitely staying in South Hampstead

  8. West Hampstead has its own character and energy, younger in vibe and edgy-er than neighbouring Hampstead, it has a classy community feel yet the lively bars and cafes entice you in when you walk up West End Lane. Peaceful residential streets and close to the Heath means you can escape the city but with three train lines you can get to work within minutes. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else!

  9. Because there are trees everywhere you walk.

  10. Great diversity and very cosmopolitan world!

  11. I love living in this area and have done so for the past 25 years because it has all the necessary amenities available. Public transport going in all directions both train and bus, which means easy access to shops and work. A local park, Paddington Recreation Ground, which has plenty of green space, play areas for children, dog exercise area, different sports grounds, and a gym. There are many Primary and Secondary schools, which is excellent for families with children in education. Local libraries with plenty for activities for both the young and old. Last but not least many fast food/restaurants and pubs nearby, so having a night out has never been easier.
