Putney is so close to so many parks, commons and wilderness areas. Like being in the country even through you are still in central London

Putney is a very safe feeling community area with many active persons who participate in running, cycling, rowing, sailing, etc. The easy access to Richmond park, Barnes, and the river provide a country feel while being a short commute to the city center.

Tube access at Putney Bridge, overland train access at the top of the hill - great buses. The best thing is walking home over Putney Bridge on a warm summer's night and looking at the river - it seems to divide work from home life. Great pubs, fantastic shopping, easy to leave London for the weekend - need I go on??

Putney is a beautiful bustling town within a big city. An easy commute into the city via train to Waterloo or simply hop on the underground or bus in to Central London. However, there is no need to travel at the weekend because Putney provides everything you need on your doorstep. The High Street is home to a wide variety of shops, supermarkets, hairdressers, boutiques and a wide range of restaurants - I am still discovering new places to eat after 4 years of living here! Wonderful homely pubs and upcoming bars, live music and great food. And last but not least, the River Thames and local parks provide an excellent setting for a relaxing walk or spiriting run to escape the hustle and bustle...

A well-heeled Southwest London district, Putney was identified as one of the capital’s 35 major centres in the London Plan. Putney is located 4.9 miles (7.9 km) southwest of Charing Cross. Bordered by the Thames on one side and surrounded by green spaces, the neighbourhood has a fresh feel. The bustling shopping district offers independent and high street shops as well as a shopping centre. You’ll also find an array of restaurants, pubs, cocktail bars, a theatre, cinema, and leisure centre, as well as sports and recreation facilities, waterside walks and parks and a few good schools in the neighbourhood.
