Why not explore the nearby areas of City, Barbican, Southwark, Clerkenwell, Borough, Holborn, Aldgate, Covent Garden, Spitalfields and Shoreditch

"After being set the task of redesigning St Paul's Cathedral in 1669, Sir Christopher Wren originally designed the dome with a pineapple on the top. Although it was never instated, there are, however, two on top of the western towers."

The cathedral is what makes the area so great. there are tourists but it is not annoyingly busy. It's vibrant and lively but quiet on the weekends. When you are in the City you know you are in London.
