Brixton is such a vibrant area and has lots of energy. I have lived here since 1971!

A great range of places to eat out in and around the market, quick and easy to get into central London too.
Fiona
Great food, great transport links and some nice quiet areas and parks.

I love the diversity of the area. That you can walk down streets and find beautiful artisan cafes and one-off design shops alongside Caribbean food stalls and lots of second hand shops. I love the architecture of the area with the Ritzy, library and city hall all showing remnants of an older Brixton. I love that you have access to some of the lovelier areas (in my opinion) in London, with Brockwell Park and its amazing views of London or Herne Hill and its lovely shops and cafes. The people in the area also make it unique. From the religious preachers outside of KFC to the steel drum players and the friendly flower man outside the station. Any walk through the area shows you something new and exciting.

The transport links are great into the West End and the City where I do most of my work. With its lido and open space, nearby Brockwell Park is a fantastic place to get my exercise fix. The choice of food at the thriving Brixton Village is endless and there are plenty of bars, pubs and clubs to entertain you into the late/early hours.

The Brixton Market and the Stockwell Pry school

It's very close and well-connected to central London while it is not overcrowded and chaotic. You can be in Brixton with a short walk and taste different dishes from all around the world or just enjoy strolling around Brixton Village. There are some parks nearby as well, like Kennington or Clapham Common. I love living in Stockwell.

Brixton Market caters to all and is always buzzing.
Fahad
A multicultural area, always awake within a short cycle to central London or Kent. Interesting food and nice characters all around!
Francesco
I love how friendly the neighbours are and a lovely sense of community.
